Monday, November 28, 2016 — Ottawa’s largest beach volleyball tournament recently made a major announcement. HOPE Volleyball has selected its six charitable recipients for their 2017 tournament, one of which will be the OCH Foundation.
The Foundation was selected from dozens of local charities who applied to receive funding from the tournament. The funding will support the OCH Foundation’s recLINK program, an initiative that connects children living in OCH communities with subsidized recreational programming. Also receiving funding this year are the following charities:
- Dress for Success Ottawa National Capital Region
- Children at Risk
- Shepherds of Good Hope
- Sexual Assault Support Centre
- The Waupoos Foundation
HOPE’s flagship Volleyball SummerFest event combines recreational volleyball with live rock entertainment. Each year, more than 25,000 players and spectators flock to Mooney’s Bay Beach in Ottawa for the greatest summer party in the region. These participants have helped HOPE donate over $3.5 million in support of more than 110 local charities.
The Foundation will be recruiting volunteers for this year’s HOPE tournament. Contact Scott Fowler at email@example.com if you are interested in volunteering.
