Tuesday, May 3, 2016 — Ottawa — The OCH Foundation is delighted to announce that Melissa Reeves, who serves on its Board of Directors, has been selected as a recipient of the 2016 “Forty Under 40” award.
One of Ottawa’s most prestigious business awards, Forty Under 40 celebrates exceptional achievements by local business leaders under the age of forty. Melissa was one of forty recipients selected from a pool of over 260 nominees.
Melissa has been a director on the OCH Foundation’s Board of Directors since 2015. She has demonstrated a great level of enthusiasm; immersing herself in Foundation initiatives and attempting to expand its reach into new opportunities that would help it achieve its goal of ending the cycle of poverty in low-income neighbourhoods in Ottawa.
“The OCH Foundation and its Board are extremely proud of Melissa,” stated Howard Whittaker, the OCH Foundation’s Executive Director. “She is driven and very passionate about her work, both professionally and philanthropic, and has a very noble desire to better the community she lives in.”
Melissa is a specialist in Communications and Marketing. She currently works for ModBox, a design-forward development company that builds modern homes in urban Ottawa. Her impressive professional career coupled with an active community engagement has made her a highly respected resident of the Vanier area.
The experience has been moving for Melissa, who takes great pride in her business acumen. “To receive such an exciting award and to be recognized for the hard work you put into your craft is truly an honour. I look forward to continuing my work with ModBox and in the community, and to continue bettering the city I live in.”
Melissa will receive her award on Thursday, June 16th, during a gala at the Hilton Lac-Lemay co-hosted by the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce and the Ottawa Business Journal.
