Wednesday, December 12, 2018 — Children who are reduced to carrying supplies in a plastic bag and wearing torn shoes can easily become targets of bullying and intimidation. Children just want to fit in and feel equal to their peers. Arriving to school unprepared and unequipped with basic, necessary school supplies is a reality for many kids living in low-income communities.
Our Pack a Sack program provides children & youth backpacks and the supplies they need to help them reach their full potential in life, despite their financial status. Thanks to the Ottawa Community Foundation and through their community grant – the Foundation has secured $10,000 in support of Pack a Sack. This contribution will help us grow our reach getting kids back to school ready.
