New collaboration to get local youth thinking internationally

Monday, October 22, 2018 — The OCH Foundation has been shortlisted as a potential recipient of the Ottawa Community Foundation’s New Leaf Community Challenge. In collaboration with Youth Futures and Global vision, the Foundation will merge their two programs into a solution that will put at-risk youth on track to pursue careers in Ottawa’s fastest growing industries and network them with like-minded peers internationally. The new program, Youth+, is set to launch in February 2019 and would serve 180 youth in six months.

The project will be implemented across 6 core components which will provide youth with the leadership and employability skills they need to effectively enter the work force:

  • Industry Round Table Series
  • Industry Tour
  • National Youth Ambassador Caucus
  • Mentorship Program
  • Summer Internships
  • International Trade Missions
