Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: 2024 Youth Futures Program Welcomes 150 New Youth   

Thursday, February 22, 2024 | Ottawa, ON – The highly anticipated 2024 Youth Futures Program is set to launch the 16th annual edition, as it welcomes 150 bright young minds into its transformative six-month program. This renowned program is a collaboration between The City of Ottawa, The Ottawa Community Housing Foundation (OCH Foundation), and the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa (BGC Ottawa).  

“We are thrilled to launch the 2024 Youth Futures Program, marking our 16th year of empowering young minds. This program is more than just an educational experience; it’s a steppingstone towards a brighter future for these talented youth,” said Angela Begin, Director of the OCH Foundation. 

Through generous sponsors such as the RBC Future Launch, Rideau Hall Foundation’s Catapult initiative, and Carleton University the Youth Futures program runs at no cost to participants.  

“The 2024 Youth Futures Program is a testament to our commitment to nurturing the leaders of tomorrow. By providing access to valuable resources, mentorship, and experiential learning, we aim to empower these young individuals to reach their full potential,” added Ayane Bouh, Youth Futures Program Coordinator.

About Youth Futures 

Youth Futures is a six-month program that supports high school students aged 16-21 build important skills in preparation for post-secondary education and employment. The bilingual program offers advanced leadership training, mentorship, employment experience, and post-secondary orientation at no cost to participants.  

About the OCH Foundation 

The OCH Foundation supports the Youth Futures program through communications, marketing, and fund development. Committed to the 32,000 tenants living in Ottawa Community Housing, the OCH Foundation helps families, youth and children achieve personal success through education, employment, and community engagement projects. The Foundation has raised over 11 million dollars since its inception which has been redistributed through tenant focused programs and initiatives.
